Whooping cough vaccine

I’m almost 26w and haven’t had it!! Do I need to call my doctors for this? So many I know have had it at 16w/20w and I haven’t yet so didn’t know if it’s something I need to arrange or if it can wait till my 28w midwife appt?

To my knowledge midwife’s don’t administer vaccines when they mentioned it they should have said about going through your gp to get both the flu and whooping cough(obvs maybe your midwife may be different) I opted out of the flu and just got the whooping one when I was 20/21weeks I think it did make me a little run down but nothing a woman can’t handle!😂😂 x

It’s for you to book it through your doctor’s surgery. You just ring up and book it yourself! Xxx

My midwife said you can have it between 16-32 weeks. I had mine at 24 weeks :) you have to call your doctors to get it booked in.

I had mine at around 24 weeks I think only had the whooping cough as I opted out of the flu vaccine, I just booked it through the doctors and told them why I was wanting to book it. It made me a bit run down and my arm was a bit swollen and tender for like 2 weeks (might’ve been a bit longer) but apparently that can happen

You can have it at your GP, but you need to arrange it yourself. Otherwise, check if they do it at your trust. We have a drop-in clinic on certain days at my trust. The trust where I'm giving birth (different trust) has a vaccination midwife that does it in the ANC clinic.

Mine was issued at my midway scan via notes from the midwife to do so.
