Okay hear me out:
I’m due to be induced at about 37 weeks due to preeclampsia (I’m 32+2 now) and I had an awful induction experience last time that became traumatic for me. I am looking to find any way possible to either go into labour naturally or even just avoid needing the hormone drip. I will do whatever is needed medically for my baby girl but if anyone has any options or advice on how to avoid at least part of it, I’d be super grateful!
I would start any of it until closer to the time so not anything drastic now but I want to have a plan set

Exercise, sex, spicy foods, pineapple, dates, raspberry leaf tea, squatting and bouncing on birthing ball also helps push baby down, curb walking. Not sure how many of these actually help but might be worth giving them a go 🤷♀️ xx

Also ^ pumping colostrum

I read that the only thing with evidence to back it up is nipple stimulation, but that you’d have to do it A LOT!

I'd recommed acupuncture... I did and will do acupuncture again this time before induction. It didn't put me into labor before induction but my induction (39 weeks though) was super quick and smooth, so I think it helped to prepare my body. Also pelvic floor physio. And I did 2 stretch and sweeps and the typical movement etc.

Exercise! I would walk up and down the basement stairs. I did squats. Just a few after a while here and there. I would put my knees on the couch and my elbows on the floor. With my butt in the air lol and stretch. But girl!! It worked for me

Miles circuit and keep doing the exercises, once you are ready and feel the stronger bh (if not contractions), then ask midwife to do a sweep.

For the last week or two I’ve been doing walks, stair climbing, curb walking, yoga ball rolling/bouncing, spicy foods, sex, lots of water, miles circuit, squats/lunges, sitting backwards on toilet, nipple stimulation, acupressure and no baby yet! Lol however today I’ll finally find out if I’m dilating or not so that will help figure out if those things are making a difference

Sex definitely helps! I was also told by leaving sperm inside by a midwife, as it has some of the same things inside as induction has. I think it actually was what got my labour started!

Exercise definitely! Have you got a birthing ball? I bounced constantly! Lots of walking, curb walking is good to get baby engaged! Everything crossed for you 🤞❤️

No. There are things that can make your cervix more favorable, but I don't think there's much you can do to actually "induce" labor aside from waiting 😄 that said, I believe staying active, eating dates (ew), and trying sex can help get your body ready for labor.

Just following up on my last comment to say after doing all that just found out I’m still completely closed! Lol
