Clothes

I’m a first time mom and I hope these aren’t ridiculous questions…

What type of clothing should I buy for the first 3 months? It’s hot in Kansas during the summer. I imagine just onesies? I always see babies all swaddled but that would be hot. Right? Our house will be air conditioned though so in the house swaddling is the way to go? Onesie underneath the swaddle? Or just the diaper? Socks or no socks? Socks make me hot idk. I might be overthinking and making this all too difficult. lol

I’ve been putting my registry together and a lot of what I have is swaddles and onesies. 🤷🏻‍♀️ they grow so fast I don’t want to buy the wrong things for 0-3 months.

I was wondering the same thing too since it gets 90 degrees and warmer in the Bay Area. I heard that bamboo fabrics should help and muslim blankets

Onesies. They have short sleeve onesies to. I kept my first born dressed in mostly onesies and occasionally the cute outfits for pictures. Have socks and little hats it’s always good to have!

Thanks everyone! I read an article and it said “if you’re hot the babies hot.” And I took that to heart. I’m naturally warm blooded. I love the cold so I’m not always the best guide for whether it’s too cold or not.

For the newborn stage, I am trying to focus on modal sleepers. Some footed some not footed. They have long pants and sleeves so they should be warm but they are also light and breathable. A good mix I think!

Lived in Texas with my first and man oh man was that a hot summer. Onesies light leggings and thin socks at night and day time she rocked the diaper unless we were going outside
