Can hospital refuse care?!
Just moved house this week, 90 minute drive from when I lived previously. Did the online self-referral to the new hospital today as advised by midwife in my previous area, to receive an email saying no, they’re full and can’t offer care?! Is this even legal? Surely they can’t refuse care and expect me to drive 90 minutes in labour back to my previous hospital?! Freaking out

I think I would go back to the midwife / gp and explain that they have refused you. Have you got a new midwife / gp? Maybe you need to register with them first?
I’ve moved GP and they just told me to self refer and they don’t get involved. This is how I was told to go about getting a new midwife. I’ve found a community midwives number which I’ve left a message at, but I’m just panicking at this point
