I’m 5w3d. I limit myself to a cup of coffee in the morning ensuring it’s under 200mg of caffeine. That’s what I’ve read online. Do you think that’s okay?
I really can’t imagine cutting it out completely - but if that’s what I should do, then I will.
Any advice would be great.

So, I literally drank coffee throughout my pregnancy but I did limit it to just like a cup when I did drink it. I was a little worried as well but everything seems fine.
Obviously, if you could cut it completely that’s best but I think you’re safe with what you’re consuming. I knew a female that drank a coke every morning and throughout the pregnancy to get her caffeine boost because she wasn’t a coffee person. Her baby as well came out perfectly fine.

I drank coffee throughout my pregnancy too, I did have 1-2 cups a day now I have a 20month old and need 4 to get through the day 🤣
Thanks!! This makes me feel better!

I sometimes have more then one cup. It's completely fine

I usually do 2 cups of half caf my first trimester and after that I go wild lol

You can check out Emily Oster’s assessment on this (her book expecting better has a good analysis of the risks of caffeine). But yes, sticking with the amount of caffeine you are drinking is fine. I went with just decaf or occasionally caffeinated tea for my first kid cause that was what I was used to, but now I need the cup of real coffee, so I’ll probably be having a cup a day if I’m able to get pregnant a second time.

Yes, 1 cup. However, I have a trick for 2 cups. Buy 1/2 caf if your body can handle a half caffeinated to start the day. Then you can allow yourself another cup later in the day. 😇
