Can't stop worrying 😞

I had a positive pregnancy test on Monday, I'm about 4 weeks pregnant. I'm over the moon, but I can't stop stressing! I've had an ectopic in the past and last year I had a miscarriage. I just want to relax! And I keep googling stories about when things could go wrong, my chances of a healthy pregnancy etc. I need to stop! Anyone else? I think it might be best I book myself in for an early scan to put my mind at ease.

Idk if this sounds like it will be helpful, but this is what got me through that stage of pregnancy: so this is a table that shows your probability of miscarrying and more importantly NOT miscarrying by day of gestation. I was googling stories like mad and it made me crazy, so instead of doom scrolling, I only let myself go to this table for reassurance and I focused on the column with my probability of not miscarrying. It helped me to go day by day. So I’d go from like “oh look! I have a 75% chance of not miscarrying today! That’s pretty high!” Then a few days later I’d be like “awesome! Now I’m at 78%!” It kept me in a more positive headspace - but keep in mind, the risk of miscarriage is also listed. Hey, I feel the same. I had a miscarriage and an ectopic too. writing my feelings down when I can’t cope really helps. Definitely speak to your EPU as mine said they would offer me a 6 weeks scan to check it was in the right position due to the previous ectopic. Hope you feel a bit better soon x

Its a lonely scary time isn't it. I was thinking of doing that, I didn't know if I could ring my EPU or whether I had to speak to my GP and be referred. I think it would help me so much to have that reassurance xx

I'm the same..I had an ectopic in 2020 with emergency tube removal and my last son I was so anxious the entire pregnancy. I'm a little more relaxed this time around after having a healthy pregnancy but still really on edge.
I rang the EPAU to book in an early placement scan at 6 weeks

It depends how your EPU works, mine is self referral, some of them you have to go through the GP. No harm in asking them though as they are used to these kind of situations and are usually very helpful and understanding x

I found out I’m pregnant on Monday and I had a ectopic pregnancy in September so I know exactly how you feel. I went for an early scan yesterday thinking I was around 7 weeks however I’m earlier than excepted around 4 weeks so there was nothing to see so I wouldn’t advise an early scan until you know for a fact you are at least 7 weeks or it might increase the anxiety. Im just trying my best to adopt the what will be will be mindset no amount of worrying will change what the outcome is going to be xx
