#2nd baby!

I have 1 boy who was born in 2021. Planning to have another baby this yr (2024) . Do you think the age gap will be good? Will the second pregnancy be difficult ( post pregnancy)? Is it difficult handling 2 small babies? One a toddler .. one a newborn? Will there be bonding between the kids? Any suggestions.. any comments on your experience is welcome 🙏

I'm in the same boat as you. So yes, the age gap will be perfect!

And they second pregnancy will probably be hard AF with a toddler!

Post pregnancy... I've been talking w my OB asking what the chances are of a VBAC.

I'm going to try to have my 2 year old potty trained before baby #2 arrives

Good luck!

I had my daughter December 21 and due in 4 weeks. This pregnancy was harder just because you have a little relying on you.

My babies are 19 month apart and it's great! It's a bit of an adjustment at first, but with my son I was super intentional about giving him lots of love and one on one time close to when my baby girl was born and talking to him about baby sister! Also I found that setting a time every day that baby is sleeping he gets one on one time with mommy. He loves his sister so much! Just make sure your son still feels included. Good luck! It's amazing having 2 😍

I just gave birth to my second baby (2 years and 1 month apart). It has been slightly difficult since my toddler is still wanting to be carried and wants to lay on my chest all the time. She gets jealous of the attention the baby gets, but is still big enough to love to help out with the baby slightly (brings diapers, wipes, finds a paci, brings his blanket). She lights up whenever she can help. She seems to be bonding very well with him.

I think you’re already doing it right because you’re not forcing yourself to have two under two. I had a son in November 2021 and I am now pregnant and due in May. It did happen sooner than I thought it would, but you can’t plan everything perfectly. I will say it has been a little hard sometimes being pregnant and exhausted with a toddler but I guess he just got used to it. If you’re OK having the baby born in 2025 I think that’s fine. There’s nothing wrong with that. I’ve heard great things about people having age gaps of three or four years.

I think that age gap is perfect cause the toddler will be starting daycare( 2s )and will be old enough to understand when you tell them a new baby is coming.

I just had my second this past Nov! My boys were born Nov 8th, 2021 and Nov 11th 2023. I love the 2 year gap and doubt 3years will be much different! The first month my oldest wanted nothing to do with him but he's gotten used to him. He will give him a binky, wave goodnight (lmao), he fetches things for his little brother, oh and likes to startle him because it's funny 🙄😅 it's definitely an adjustment having two littles but I taught my son how to climb the furniture and steps and do more independent things so he could help out more. Kids love to help out, we spent months telling him all the things he would get to do with "his baby" and we make sure to include him in bath time and diaper changes with the baby.
We thought about potty training (and you definitely can) but keep in mind that the oldest will probably resort to acting like a baby for a while (wanting diapers, changed on a changing table, etc)

My baby was born in Nov 2021 & I had my 2nd 22 month later. It was hard during the third trimester because she would always want to sit on me or want me to carry her, she was jealous the first few weeks but now the baby is 4 1/2 months old & their bond is soooo cute. She still gets jealous sometimes but not the tantrum type. I just have to make sure to give her 1 on 1 time while baby is napping & I always do her bedtime routine during baby’s nap time so she still gets that experience.she loves being helpful & it brightens her mood when I ask her to bring the paci or diapers or tell her go get a toy for baby sister. She even uses a completely different voice when when she does her baby talk with the younger one 😂 you’ll be fine, just try to be present with your first when you have the ability !!
