Not sure I should admit to this but today I just was not in the mood so for lunch I had a packet of quavers and a kit kat chunky. I did my bloods as normal an hour later and had gone from 4.7 to 4.8!
How is this possible when I eat weetabix is sends me through the roof?! Do I need to just keep eating chocolates!? Anyone else had anything like this???

Did you pair it with anything, drink water or work out? You might have had a big spike and crash within the hour though

nope sat at my desk with a Pepsi max! I am normally alot more aware but today I jiay needed it!.d

Sounds like a spike then https://www.gestationaldiabetes.co.uk/blood-sugar-levels/

I so badly want chocolate!!! I get days where I’m so hungry and don’t feel like anything bland. I’m really struggling

@Isobel I haven't found.chocolaye too bad! I try and have like heroes? So they're small
Also Jim jam chocolate spread is super low in sugars! Compared to like Nutella x

The sugars rising aren’t always to do with the sugar as such. The carb content of foods has a bigger impact for some people.
I’m the same with weetabix, they shoot my sugar levels so high yet jam doesn’t. I have been told to focus on the overall carb content of the food rather than what sugars.

I think that.must be what it is '

I am the same, I cannot have weetabix or porridge, but had a small slice of banoffee pie on Boxing Day, tested 1 hour later and readings absolutely fine, tested another hour later and still ok 😂

I'll stick to all the sugars then haha

I think it depends how our bodies tolerate certain things, I could never have porridge or any cereals from week 26, but I could eat 10 ferero rocher at once without a slight increase. So could be your tolerance.
Also could be a high and then crash as well, it tends to happen when body is exposed to a larger carb than usual

Carbs are worst than sugar for blood sugars. You just have to keep pairing everything with a protein to help keep numbers level.
