Storing baby items in loft

Hello! We are going to be putting away a lot of baby items for storage in our loft soon and I was wondering what the best way is to ensure they stay clean and damp/mould free to reuse for baby #2 someday. It will be things like infant carrier car seat, bassinet, bouncer, crib and mattress, fabric play mat, small toys. Any advice or tips much appreciated - thanks!

Following as we are in exactly the same position x

I wouldn't store anything in the loft to be honest especially not the car seat. Because of fluctuating temperatures - either really hot or really cold, it's almost certain that it will go mouldy annoyingly.

As above- we put the eldest’s car seat etc. in the loft, all clean and wrapped as best as we could but it did go mouldy. Even stuff like the covers in vacuum bags/storage boxes went funny. If you have anywhere else in the house to store them I’d put as much as you can there instead. Might have just been unlucky for us and might work for others, but it was gutting having to throw away so much stuff 😩

We kept everything in the garage in bin bags for this reason and it seemed to keep well for our second x

Definitely don't store car seats in the loft or garage as there's a high chance of them going mouldy, car seats should be stored in the house. Maybe on top of a wardrobe if there's room?

Showering with my baby? Is it unsafe/ wrong?

Is it weird to take a shower with my baby boy? Is it a bad thing? I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately because I can never shower I’m 11 weeks pp and my husband started a new job. He is gone all day to work and I can’t just leave my baby alone so I can shower. I can’t hear the monitor over the running water and even if he is sleeping if I leave the room he wakes up and starts crying and doesn’t stop unless I pick him up and if I put him down again he cries again and I’m against letting my baby just cry it out. So I’ve been neglecting my own self care and hygiene and it’s really taking a toll on my mental health. So I guess what I’m really wondering is it wrong, and is it unsafe?

Boy night time diapers

Hey boy mommas! I have a 5 month old tomorrow and for the past couple nights, he’s started peeing through his diapers at night and soaking his clothes. Any suggestions on the best night time diapers for baby boys who pee a lot?

Next to me crib

Is my baby growing out of her next to me? She’s 4.5 months old and I’m not ready to put her in her own room yet (I know should wait until 6 months anyway) but is she still okay in this crib?

Are nursing bras worth it?

Pregnant with my first I do plan to exclusively breast feed. I definitely don’t want pads or underwire. Are nursing bras with the front hooks worth it or do yall just pop a boob our the bottom of a bralette?

How many wake ups?

How many times are you having to settle baby during the night? Is baby still in your room or in their own room? If baby is sleeping in their own room, how many times do you go to their room to settle them in the night?

I’m just unsure if it’s worth put my little one in her own room when when she is needing settling multiple times in the night in her sleep (she isn’t fully waking up but wanting her dummy put back in if she can’t find it herself or the cot rocking?

How can I get enough sleep 😴

My 11 month old has never been a great sleeper. He went to bed at 8:00pm last night. Me and my partner tidied up and went to sleep at 9ish. Baby still wakes 3 times a night and can take a while to resettle. My partner wakes up at 5 for work and he is also very tired.

He often wakes up close to my alarm too (when working). My alarm was set for 6 and baby woke up at 4:30. He only went back to sleep in his cot at 5:30. Meaning there is no time for me to go back to sleep and my day has started at 4:30.

Even when going to bed at 9, I still cannot catch enough sleep to get me through the day. I am 14 weeks pregnant and the tiredness is hitting me hard.
