Pulmonary embolism and C-section delivery

Hi. I was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism a couple of months ago and I’m due to have a C-section in 3 days. I’m very nervous about it and how my body is going to cope with it. The past couple of days I’ve been struggling with my breathing again and it’s freaking me out. I’m not sure if it’s just how baby is lying or something. I’ve been having nightmares for weeks that I bleed out and they can’t control it or I have a cardiac arrest on the table and now it’s put so much fear into me I wondered if I made the right decision. But baby is also measuring really big too and I felt this was my better option. If anyone else has been through this I would really appreciate hearing about it. Thanks

My first baby I had a section (following failed induction) after a Pulmomary Embolism and heparin injections. All good - no excessive bleeding or other complications. I'm also having a scheduled section on Monday so feeling your nerves - it's an added stress with the blood thinners and risk of clots, but I think it's more common than you think and serious complications are very rare! They'll have everything under control ❤️ best of luck with yours!!!

Thank you! That’s really reassuring to hear. I’ve been really unwell since Christmas with gallstones and an inflamed pancreas and now I just can’t seem to stay hydrated and my eyes, nose, mouth and skin are just so dry and sore. It’s just set off my health anxiety I think and made me really scared all of a sudden. I hope yours goes well too
