38.7 C is fever?

My LO is having 38.1-38.7 C temperature today since late evening. Should I give her Tylenol or wait until higher temperature or until she is very fussy ? Just now she is slleeoing in my arms and seems okay-ish.

She has little cold and cough and she must be teething too. So can’t figure out the temperature is being caused by what :(.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks.

It's better to go and visit the doctor. Any fever is not good to wait for. If you have an urgent care clinic nearby, go and consult them

So I had these same questions when I had my first baby and our doctor informed us that having a fever is a good thing as it means baby is fighting off infection. If your baby is over 3 months you can give Tylenol but follow the weight dosage not the age. If fever persists longer than 5 days then you need to go to children’s hospital.

Rule of thumb is Tylenol is used to make baby comfortable. If baby has high fever but is happy don’t feel
You have to administer it.

Also if your baby’s temp reaches above 105 (40c) I would take them in.

If baby is under 3 months then any fever needs to be assessed by medical professional right away. Hope this helps!

Thank you mama’s. My LO is 7.5 months old.

She is not restless. A little bit uncomfortable and therefore I thought would ask when would be the right time to give Tylenol to make her feel better.

I will call the doctors office first thing in the morning and also double check with them.

My youngest is 7 months too and our fever was a combination of teething and a cold! It’s so hard to tell what it is bc they are so little and can’t tell you what’s wrong! Good luck and I hope your LO feels better soon!

If you have medical questions like this I'd advise calling your provincial Telehealth where you can speak with a trained nurse.

Just wanted to provide an update and also pose a question.

Update: did not give MY LO any Tylenol as she went to sleep after feed DVD during the night I kept checking her temperature it did not rise and by morning was gone. No fever again after that.

Question: so wondering why did it happen that evening / night ? What could be the reason? I don’t see any teeth have come out. Though I feel her bottom teeth when I rub my finger on her gums.
