Changing table vs changing mat on bed?

Hey beauties,
Is it worth getting a changing table or is it worth just getting a changing mat and putting that on the bed to change my baby each time I’m currently 27+2 weeks pregnant and contemplating weather to buy a changing table I don’t really have a lot of room I have places to store nappies and wipes etc all that that’s fine I just wanna know if a changing table is an important thing to purchase
Any advice would be amazing first time pregnant women anxious as hell haha xx

We’ve just bought one of marketplace for £20, looks brand new.. probably will only use it when baby is a bit older and maybe once a day when getting dressed, wouldn’t be going in the nursery every time to get them changed or change nappy so wouldn’t say it’s a necessity personal choice I think x

We already have a few standing wardrobe and chest of drawers with little room extra after adding a cot so opted for a wedge shaped changing mat to go on the chest of drawers. At the end of the day you’re never leaving them unattended so safety isn’t a concern x

I just use a changing mat on the floor with a changing caddy

I had a changing table for my first and it just gathered dust! I’m just using a changing mat this time round as it’s so much easier xx

We just did changing mat on chest of drawers for first. Feel like a changing table is an extra expense for not much use.

I think it’s personal preference really..we have a changing table upstairs (a chest of drawers with a changing table top) and then we just use a changing mat on the floor downstairs, we still use the changing table now and LO is almost 18 months.
Worth considering surprise wees / extra messy nappies too - I found those easier to change on the table as there was no risk of it getting on the carpet etc 😂

Hated my changing table. I felt uncomfortable using it so I didn’t use it and it took up space that I didn’t have. Was much happier when I got rid of it.

Drawers with the changing table on top. We had those furniture set with my daughter so using it again! I had an emergency c section with my daughter and it was a god send… no way would I of managed if not after a c section. Xx

I found any changing table the perfect height to set off backache if I’m honest. I’m 5’6 for reference. I always used changing mat on the floor or bed with my son. I had a changing caddy and then a trolley for storing nappies wipes etc that I still use now and will be used again for next baby I’m sure

I had a c section btw and honestly I think the changing table would’ve irritated that more as well
