Just had my midwife appointment, and mentioned I was feeling lots of pressure down below, and sore vagina area muscles/bones. She checked and baby was in engaged position. I am worried it will now come early, as online says it usually happens at 34 - 36 weeks? And I have been feeling this a while. Any help or info? Thanks

My baby’s head was down from 16 weeks and they aren’t worried :) I’m 27w FYI. Yes, a lot of pressure fun(!) but as long they aren’t worried then all good x

My baby boy was also head down from 20 weeks, he since keeps changing and going slightly diagonally. I’m 28 weeks now and no change x

Just seen my notes. Is engagement 4/5 okay for 28 weeks okay too?

I'm 30 weeks with exctaly same prob as you.. But was told yesterday I will prob go in to. Labour 34/36 weeks.. But I'm holding alot of fuild also x

First baby tends to get engaged earlier as there is less room. My daughter was engaged at the 28 week scan and she had to be induced. She was born 2 days before her due date.

Does anyone know what 4/5 means and if that is engagement! I'm just super worried and upset x

pregnancy is hard work 🤦🏼♀️ Okay , 5/5 or 4/5 in your notes means that your baby hasn't dropped all the way down yet, while 3/5, 2/5, or less means that your baby is engaged. Your midwife may also write "NE", "NEng" or "free" for "not engaged", or "E" or "Eng" for "engaged. Credit go to baby centre U.K. website x

So I wonder how long baby can be at 4/5 then as I still have 11 weeks... x

I just don't like to keep ringing my midwife as same person and they will just think I'm worrying x

Is there another advice line?

we are from different countries so I’m not sure. But in my maternity notes there’s a lot of different phone numbers for different reasons. I don’t have one midwife actually so I can ring anytime I have worries or questions 😆 Thrn they say come in if needed but most of time I don’t need to come in. They always say call anytime as there’s no stupid questions x

The soreness sounds like pelvic girdle pain!
I wouldn’t worry about engagement, they can pop in and out at this stage x

5/5 is not engaged at all and I believe 1/5 is crowning. (Seems backwards I know)
Babies can engage and disengage over the last trimester. It’s like ‘practicing’ for them. Its Nothing at all to worry about ☺️
