Screen time

Realistically how long do you allow your babies to watch TV a day. Ours has become a little too fixed on in the night garden and Teletubbies 👀

I try to do a max of 1hr per day. I usually put ms Rachel as it’s the only thing that will catch her attention for more than 10min 😂

I always swore no screen time… hahaha ignorance was bliss. We now don’t really have a strict screen time rule. Sometimes she won’t watch any tv for a few days If we’re busy, doing activities or baby classes but tv will be on in the background just for noise like the news or something. But then, il have days where I don’t have the energy or need to get house work done. I think the most shel have is a few hours spread throughout the day. It’s so dependent on both our moods. Sometimes she doesn’t want to play so we sit and watch Miss Rachel or a film together. Or I just don’t have it in me to play all day. But on a normal day I do try cap 1 Miss Rachel episode a day just to allow me to get dressed and brush my teeth then we turn it off and resume it and pause throughout the day, they’re an hour long and I find that being a decent amount as and when it’s needed as a distraction for her x

One episode of mrs Rachael in the morning to allow me to prep her meals for the day and load washing machine ,brush my teeth ,etc …

Well we pretty much always have the tv on in the living room, whether thats something for her in the background, or something for me in the background. She has been poorly though so she has layed with me and watched a movie here and there. She's always playing, though, and we go out most days. This month we have had a lot of illness and sleep regression, so when she woke up for the day at 4am, i put Mary Poppins on so i can drink my coffee and wake up.😄 Mary Poppins is the only thing she has been glued to! 🤷🏻‍♀️

We also had a bad run of illness in our house (both baby and us) so we had a lot of dancing fruit going on. It’s the only thing she really likes! I’d say around 1-2hours in total spread across the day. However when she’s not ill we can go days without it. I’m glad I saw this post, because I saw a very judgey one on here recently about screen time at restaurants and it made me feel rubbish!

Didn’t do any screen time until a few weeks ago. Now do two minutes twice a week whilst I cut her nails as no amount of toys works for that. Once had to use it to cook as she was going through extreme separation anxiety but generally avoid it at all costs. I personally don’t want a toddler fixated on screens in restaurants, I find it very sad to look at.

Trust me mine too

None.

None for me as well! I don't like it, but I understand it can be a huge help.🙂

If we are in the house the tv will be on with either CBeebies or a Disney movie/mickey mouse because my 2yo will ask for it. It’s more just in the background whilst we play and we don’t spend too much time just sitting at home
On a night we try and get them to chill and watch some Peter rabbit when they are having their milk
So probably a couple of hours a day I honestly wouldn’t worry about it as long as they are getting out/playing with toys etc too xx

I always have the tv on most of the day, sometimes with things for me to watch in the background and sometimes for her, Rose though very rarely pays attention to the tv and plays on the floor or comes up for cuddles to watch with me for a bit then back off to run around. She only really stops and watches to tv if i put on the disney/music playthrough for her which she loves. ( Consists of You're Welcome, Be Prepared, Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride, Dig a little deeper, How far i'll Go, kiss the girl and some songs from a Netflix show called Julie and The Phantoms ) but i only ever really turn it on when i need to do washing up/tidying. So she stays fully occupied, otherwise she just sits at the baby gate and cries.

It just depends on the day tbh. We can go without it most of the day sometimes or will have it on more if we’re unwell or just having an off day. Over the Christmas period we were very bad for it especially while over at family’s. I do now limit it to 2 hours max but not all at once more so when I’m making meals ect ☺️

None; she doesn't know what a TV is 😂

Avatar

30 minutes a day of Mrs Rachael for some peace and quiet for me 😂

Depends what type of day we have, always put it on in the morning so I can get sorted like wash the bottles etc, usually baby tv or CBeebies, he just plays with his toys tbf. He loves Ms Rachel ☺️ I’ve actually tried to incorporate some of the tv shows I used to watch when I was little, brings back a lot of memories x
