Active sleep

My girl sleeps fine and then about 4/5 hours I’ll wake up and she’s grunting so much everytime I get up to the Moses basket she then stops fast asleep lol, I’ll lay back down and she does it again. I can’t tell if it’s active sleep or if she’s stirring to wake up. She so damn loud, my partner is a deep sleeper and sleeps through it but I just can’t. I always get her up change her and feed her as I find she goes back to sleep within half hour but when do they stop being so noises? Thing is she gets up now, won’t go back to bed to half 4 then my partners up at 6am for work and he’s damm loud to I have such broken sleep lol.

This is exactly the same for me

My daughter is the same. We used to make a bottle thinking she was stirring but it would go to waste as she wouldn't wake until quite a while later. Our osteopath said it's active sleep and not to get up to her until she's actually crying properly as we'd be waking her up earlier than she needs to be. It's noisy but I have left her and she'll often sleep for another hour.

I try but it’s so damn loud lol and I’m just laying here until she wakes up as I can’t sleep through it 😢 I’ll try my best tomorrow and see how I get on

Same here, he sleeps silently for his first chunk of sleep and then his second half he pretty much just grunts the whole time, he did have a cold so I thought it was that but think the grunting is just newborn sounds now

My boy is like that, especially ATM as he has a cold. He's sounds like Darth Vader and is constantly making me panic as he stops breathing for a moment etc. 🙄🤦‍♀️

It's hard I know 😔 She doesnt do it for as long as she did so I'm hoping she'll outgrow the grunting, gasping, moaning soon. She's 8 weeks tomorrow. The gasping is the worst as she holds her breath and it makesr feel sick x

Omg me too its like a comedy sketch I get up and put my dressing gown on and all is silent, lie down and 4 seconds later it starts again- have wasted so many bottles and ended up holding her two hours when she was still asleep- trying to hold off now but its usually around an hour where I could have been asleep!

Ms Rachel ??

How many of you are putting ms Rachel on??? I’ve just introduced it to my 8 month old and it’s like sorcery. I feel so guilty putting it on because LO don’t take his eyes off the screen, but it’s the only way I’m getting 20/30 minutes during Velcro baby stage. I’ll put it on twice a day for up to 30 mins at a time, the rest of the time we’re out the house, playing with toys or he’s with me doing jobs around the house. Should I even feel guilty?😩

Moving while asleep

My 12 week old has been sleeping through the night (8 hours) for the last week and a half and since the 3rd or 4th night he's been wriggling his way to the other end of his crib to the point where his head is cocked to the side
He seems fine but it looks uncomfortable and ive always been told he needs to have his feet touching the bottom of his bed and if I move him back he wakes up.
Has anyone else experienced this? Did you leave it? Are there any potential issues if I do leave it?

5 am wake up🫩🥱

My 3 year old … lately has been waking at 5am 😭
I’m exhausted!

He winds down half an hour before bed - we get ready for bed, each of us read a book each, kisses and cuddles, a drink of water and up to bed. He goes down easy, I sit for 2 minutes literally and he’ll self sooth himself to sleep by 7:30pm he’s out! But the past 3 days he’s been waking and coming into my bed at 5am … me thinking he’ll go sleep he’ll just toss and turn and wants to go down…

Anyone in the same boat?

Night wakes

I don’t mind waking in the night for my baby. But every 2 hours, sometimes 1 is starting to have an impact on me. His sleep changed when he turned 3 months. We have had a couple nights of longer stretches, but that was all for the last 5 weeks. I just want a longer stretch back. 😅 I am aware it is so developmentally normal to wake at this age. I did expect to have slightly longer stretches by now though. I understand it could be a regression!

In my head this is my life now. When you are in it, it seems forever. It doesn’t help society has expectations of longer sleep as the baby comes out of the newborn stage. I am not looking for advice as I know it’s a phase, just reassurance!

Please don’t comment if your baby sleeps through the night 😂
