I feel like I’m getting a uti for the last couple days. Getting a gp appointment is almost impossible. Is it something I can contact triage about? Or is there somewhere else I can contact to get some antibiotics? Thanks!

I went through 111 and had a doctor call me and prescribe me the medication as I too have the same issue with my GP

Some pharmacy’s can do the test and issue antibiotics so might be worth calling your local one and see if they offer the service

Once your over 16weeks triage is what you need. Call triage they be able to see you and assess you and treat if needed. Xx

what is the name of the medication you were given?

Sometimes, if you phone the gp, you could still take in a sample to reception and get it tested it depends on the practice. They also might have to send it off/ wait for results before they will prescribe anything. Alternatively, call 111 when your surgery is closed or look at urgent treatment centres or walk-ins near you.
I think triage/midwives should be able to help, too, as it is one of the things they advise you to look out for but don't know much about the process. X x

I was prescribed with Nitrofuratin since I’m allergic to anything from cillin family
Thank you everyone. For anyone in the future Local pharmacy had nothing but 111 got me a phone appointment. Ideally they need a urine sample but due to work I couldn’t get to the surgery so got my mum to pick it up. It’s amoxicillin.
