How much sickness is too much?

I’ve started with morning sickness recently and it’s been progressively getting worse to the point today where:
- I can’t keep fluids down, I’m throwing water straight back up
- can’t eat or even think about eating
- can’t leave the bed
- feeling dizzy even when laying down
- constantly throwing up since 330am this morning and still going (currently 11am).

Any advice is appreciated
I’m approx 5 weeks pregnant with my first and this is really ruining the entire experience for me x

do not feel you need to suffer! ❤️ get in contact with your doctor and ask for some anti sickness, that should help stop the vomiting, you may have HG which is really unpleasant and nasty xx

It sounds like you have HG, contact your GP or midwife, they might recommend a hospital visit for IV fluids and anti sickness meds.

I agree sounds like HG there's medication that can help

It sounds like HG. I was told to go to hospital if you’re throwing up more fluid than you’re keeping in. They can then put you on an IV for fluids and give you some anti sickness.

I would also ring your GP and get anti sickness medication.

Thank you so much girls - I’ve been to the GP this aft and turns out I’ve got norovirus! I thought I was stating with morning sickness and turns out to be a lovely stomach bug! GP has advised me go to back Monday if not cleared up! Bloody typical 🤣 least in very grateful this hopefully won’t be what my morning sickness will be like!! Just staying hydrated as best I can at home with some ice water and it’s honestly LUSH! Thanks so much for all your time girlies xxxx

Obstetrician led

I’m having shared care between midwife’s and obstetrician.

My previous pregnancy I had extra growth scans as baby was measuring big and I had pre-eclampsia during labour and a full dilated emergency C-section.

This time round I’m having obstetrician appointments, midwives appointments, cervical length scan every two weeks from 16-22/24, and extra growth scans again .

I’m just finding it all a lot to process can anyone let me know there experiences and if they went on to have a happy pregnancy despite it

Polly??

My 3 year old son is completely insistent that baby sisters name will be Polly. I think he just got attached ages ago after hearing it shouted in the park and now it does matter what name we suggest, even if he says he likes it, he still insists her name is Polly.

Now I dont hate it but its not really what I imagine for my daughter either?? I typically like full (yet girly) names with a cute nickname that can work in either a professional setting or out of work.

I think Polly just feels like a cute nickname to me? Also, I had an imaginary friend heavily inspired by Polly Pocket as a child so I dont think that helps 🤣

We just cant seem to agree on any names as a family so a bit stumped!

Getting your induction call?

I have an induction booked for today, and was told I’d receive a call between 8 am and 9 am to let us know what time to head into the hospital. I haven’t received a call yet.

For the ladies who were induced, when did you receive your call/is it worth me following up with them? I’m sure we’ll get caught at some point soon and don’t want to be that irritating person chasing up necessarily 😂

C section advice

I am 34 weeks tomorrow and have been booked to have an induction at 37 weeks due to my waters leaking! They let me know today that I will be induced using the hormone drip and ive heard so many negative stories about the hormone drip and I also had a very negative induction on my first little girl. So I am looking into having an elective section instead. I know they can be frowned upon and I also know the recovery is alot harder than vaginally birth. But I genuinely think its my best option for me especially as my we live so far away from family and need to have someone come stay with our daughter.

Any advice would be appreciated on what to expect.
