Just wondering what peoples experiences/views were on the sleep nests and pods. My baby girl doesn’t seem to settle for any longer they 20-30 minutes in the Moses basket in the day and likes to have contact naps which I don’t mind but I would also like the odd hour or so to get some bits done and maybe treat myself to a nice brew if I’m lucky!
I’ve bought a sleep pod and used it for the first time today and she’s slept so well in it so we bought her up to bed and put it in the next to me crib. I have considered leaving it in there for her to sleep in at night but I know their not advised for safe sleeping. Just wondered if anyone uses them at night or whether to just keep it to daytime use where I can keep a better eye on her.

I just use it in the day. Personally I don't want to risk it at night

I think they are great for supervised day naps if your LO will settle in it but I wouldn’t use it at night to avoid risk of SIDS x

Officially they are a suffocation risk so I personally wouldn’t take the chance for night time sleep.
I use a baby carrier during the day if I need to get stuff done, it’s a game changer!

I’ve been so tempted to use at night too but won’t due to the risk, can’t bear the thought of worst case scenario. So just daytime naps in it for us x

I use it at night. Always have with all my children, they won't settle in next to me alone. My MW said its because there's too much space around them, they feel lonely. She suggested a rolled up towel around them so I figured what's the difference. They are right next to me anyway. Just to note though, mine has a very thin base so they are still on a firm surface x

When our little boy had to be under the UV light in hospital, the midwives made him a towel cocoon under his bed sheet . That way there wasn't a crease that his face could get stuck in.

We bought a purflo sleep nest and my baby sleeps in it throughout the night. They are approved for overnight sleeping as they have breathable base and sides. Expensive but worth it for us!

I’ve got a purflo and she sleeps amazing it’s approved for overnight sleeping. It’s got breathable sides too. We were really hesitant on overnight sleeping in the pod but she sleeps so much better I think it could be Because the bedside doesn’t feel as empty and snug for her

Thanks ladies 🥰 x

We use it at night as we have from birth. The next to me is too big for a newborn. It does worry me tbh so will try take it out but so reluctant as she sleeps so well in it. I think if we didn't have the snuza hero I wouldn't be able to sleep for worry but I know that's not the answer!
