SS suicidal!?

So my SS of 7 years (he's 9) has slowly had more and more difficult problems at his bio mom's(BM) since we started week on and off vs 2-3 days a week she would see him.

Ever since she got him back in her life she has not once ever claimed he was a good kid. Even telling him he was a horrible kid when he was a toddler, and I swear my SS is an angel.

He's been on and off in therapy through the school for 3 years and just got into seeing a family therapist (not in school). I've been asking for a year that he needs to see an out of school therapist because I'm worried about what's going on at their house.

She's always saying he's super depressed, feels worthless, is just angry and full of emotions. BUT at our house he's calm, happy, sometimes tries to push buttons. For the past year though he started acting more distant and disrespectful to where his grandparents even made a comment more recently.

Fast forward to last month mom says kiddo can't come over to the event because he's grounded, and kinda just ends the call there. Bio dad was busy and didn't look into it. Next day mom says SS is going to see a family therapy. Yay, but why all suddenly? Bio dad doesn't know, and didn't ask.

Today my kiddo tells me (SS) "yea I just didn't want any of my stuff, and idk I just wanted to get rid of it. Mom got upset saying I can't just get rid of everything and sent me to my room. I then went and got a knife and tried to end me by staby myself"

My 9 year old SS who never shows signs of depression at our house is trying to end his life at his bio mom's and I just don't know how to even think. He claims for forever now that everything is okay at mom's house, but WTF is actually going on?!?

If he’s showing signs of suicidal ideation, admission of attempt, etc, then you need to take him to a professional and/or emergency room for psych evaluation asap. I have personally been through this with my SS. It’s a very difficult roads but he needs professional intervention immediately and this is NOT something you sit on. Even if it’s not true, it’s at the very least, a cry for help. I’m here if you have any questions or want to talk.

We found out during the weekend and plan on calling his therapist to see if they knew, and what steps we should be taking. I will ask if they can do a psych evaluation or where they would recommend going. Thank you so much for the advice ❤️

Update: we are all going to co parent counseling without kiddo. The therapist didn't know and BM lied about having an evaluation already scheduled. So it was a big blow up, but hopefully with time everything will get better
