My baby girl developed jaundice, which I know is normal in babies - but she’s 11 days old now and whilst it’s improved, it’s still there and I’ve still got a baby with a little yellow/orange tinge! When she last got her levels checked she was 9 under the concerning level/number
I know it can take two weeks to go away, but I’ve been put down for a day 15 visit from the midwives to check her jaundice, and I guess I’m just worried my newborn is going to need further intervention?
We’re doing everything we should be, more regular feeds, massaging belly etc to encourage more poops, putting her in front of the window in her bassinet for natural lights etc, but it’s still here and I’m just worried 😔 I have such bad health anxiety for myself and I’m projecting this onto my daughter now & worried she’s going to need hospital intervention
Just wondering if anybody else has been through this, is there still time for it to go away? Is there anything else I can do at home?

My LOs jaundice was still there at 2 weeks. The HV booked an appointment with the hospital to have a blood test taken but there was no further action required. I wouldn’t worry about it and it will clear soon.
You’re doing everything you can to help so don’t doubt yourself.

I’ve been getting checks and while it’s been getting better it’s still there slightly and nearly 4 weeks. But it’s under treatment level so they are fine with monitoring. And I think she’ll be signed off next week.

My little ones jaundice also still present on day 15. We had an appointment at hospital on day 20 to check him over, he had a blood test (which I hated) but it confirmed his levels were normal and they told me he might still appear a bit yellow until 12 weeks and that it was normal, especially if EBF. Try not to worry 🫶🏻

We in exactly the same boat! Our little one is also 11 days old and developed jaundice. I'm paranoid it's not going as she lost weight (13%) and though she has put a fair bit back on when she was checked on Wednesday, the midwife scared the bejeesus out of me by saying if she doesn't put weight on she may end up admitted to hospital! She had tongue tie too which prevented her from feeding properly, and as such my milk supply was low, and the jaundice made her sleepy so we topped up with formula for a few days but the breast seems to be enough for her now. I was totally projecting my anxiety onto her, and thud was also affecting my milk supply!! We don't have any follow up appointments booked, though the hv is going her first visits on Wednesday next week, so when she is 2 weeks old. Her nappies are now looking like korma/tikka, so google tells me everything seems to be OK in that respect. She seems happy enough though and gets milk drunk after 15-20 minutes on the breast x

Ours is 11 days old too and she still has a tinge of the Simpsons too. We had her checked on Friday again by midwife and her score is lower than ever but it can take a while to flush out. Plus if they are pale it shows up more, so if she is very fair that might contribute! I’m sure she’s doing great mama! If she is doing plenty of nappies a day she is flushing it through :)

It will clear. Mine lasted for 2 weeks. It might help to express in a bottle to encourage more fluid if ure breastfeeding exclusively.

Hiya, my LO was the same he did have treatment a week after he was born and the jaundice is still there a little but under treatment level. He now has prolonged breastfeeding jaundice which takes a little longer to clear as he’s exclusively breast feeding. This can take up to 12 weeks to clear but as long as there are wet & dirty nappies and he’s well in himself then it will clear by itself but just need to monitor him.

exactly the same situation as me! Dont worry and definitely dont doubt yourself ❤️

My boy, now 4 years old, had jaundice until he was short of 3 months old. He had his bloods done when he was a few weeks old and paediatrician said it was milk jaundice and it would go away by itself which eventually did

Amazing thank you he’s doing better with it now colour is looking better
