Hi there, I have been feeling quite full of emotions at this stage, i have been diagnosed with Gd at week 30 and everything seems under control (plus have really bad carpal tunnel and sleep apnea so much fun 😏) and at week 36 will find out the growth of my baby bean 🫘 and the induction plan, gonna try to have it naturally possible and use all the methods because scared that the induction will make labour longer and also scare about emergency c section. My dream plan was initially water birth but at this point want him to be healthy! it’s not always what happens that is important but how it makes you feel that is important.. I have been feeling very very tired like sleeping extra last few days (maybe was the cold) and contractions/pain especially in the evening. Is this sign of early labour?
Also anyone else did the perineal
massages, raspberries leaf tea, ball etc
wanna try to do some things next week and the rest at week 37! ❤️

I also have GD and am refusing induction and having a water birth at home as the hospital wouldn't allow me on the MLU or a water birth. Just remember, your body, your baby, your birth, your choice. There isn't actually any proven risk when having GD compared to not having GD.
The only medically proven thing that can induce labour naturally is eating 6 dates a day which I have started today x

I don’t have any advice on bringing on labour (though as above I’ve heard dates and raspberry leaf tea but more for an easier/ quicker birth than earlier). In terms of your birth plans - I have GD and currently diet controlled at 35 weeks. I’ve run through my birth plan with my midwife which is currently a water birth in the birth centre and there were no questions asked. I’ve even discussed that I’d prefer avoiding induction at 40+4 if no/low risks. So if you’re under control and that’s what you’d want I’d have that conversation with your midwife! It’s all up to you based on your individual circumstance / risks etc.

Thanks both! how do you manage with dates and GD? Got them today gonna start maybe at week 37?

I got them today and started today. They didn't seem to affect my levels weirdly but I know they can! I'm actually not convinced I have GD though and think I was wrongly diagnosed as I haven't changed my diet at all and been within limits all but twice where I had very small over the limit readings! X

aww yeah that glucose test is a killer, my readings are high in the morning and they gave me
metformin but yeah overall i think am ok this diabete thing is a bit overwhelming especially you get different info from different midwifes -.-

I was diagnosed at week 35. I'm not 37 and being induced at 38. I'm terrified as my first birth was a really bad induction, so I'm hoping I start naturally.
I'm feeling really poorly and I'm in a lot of pain in the centre of my pelvis. Feeling a lot of pressure.
I didn't start labor with my daughter, so I don't really know the signs xx
