Itchy red rash!
Hi all,
Is anyone or has anyone had a skin allergy during pregnancy? I originally thought I had a reaction to a shower gel as I have reasonably sensitive skin.
However, I’ve stopped using it and almost 2 weeks later the rash is getting worse. It’s keeping me up at night and scaring my skin. I’ve contacted the midwife.
Any ideas on what I could be reacting to?

I've read that you can get lots of different types of rashes during pregnancy and that they're not harmful but are annoying. I've been having them on my face and neck recently x
I am covered in rashes all over my body since being pregnant! I usually have quite sensitive skin. Thought it was my shower gel too but I switched to a gentle 0% fragrance one but it didn’t help. Pregnancy can change how you react to things, could be your laundry detergent/fabric softener?
I used a thin layer of hydrocortisone cream on mine a few days ago and it helped massively, but it wasn’t prescribed for this and was prescribed pre pregnancy and although it is pregnancy safe I am going to go back to my GP and ask for one that is definitely the most appropriate for the areas that are affected, and I think an emollient moisturiser would help keep it at bay too
I haven’t had eczema since been a kid and never got it in my first pregnant but this one Iv had a bad eczema f lo are up on my eyes and lips !! C
My midwife said it could just be a side effect to being pregnant. However, I’m sure it’s folic acid as I’m intolerant to it. I’ve been prescribed some cream from the GP.
