Can I just not say anything about me being pregnant, and walk around my family with a very obvious baby bump? I want to keep as much peace as possible and don’t want to hear all the comments people will have to say. My parents don’t know. My husband’s parents don’t know. No one knows outside of a cousin I told and two of my husband’s cousins who asked if I was. I was thinking we announce at 25-26 weeks, but as the time gets closer, I am really dreading it. I don’t want to let anyone know. Does anyone have any advice?

You dont have to tell anyone its ur baby your body and your decision but you should announce to some people for support and help unless you got everything handled on ur own like the cost of things.. appointments..etc
yes. We have everything we need. I honestly feel pretty supported without anyone knowing. It’s so peaceful this way, but I am of a smaller frame, so I can’t hide a bump for long. My belly button is already poked out, and bump is showing through loose clothing. I mainly hide behind jackets, but I think that that’ll only work for about another 2-3 weeks. I think the feelings of no support comes whenever we announce.

It's your baby so it's your choice, however, do you think there could be more comments the longer you wait?
I honestly don’t know. I’m sure people will wonder why in the world we waited so long, but I don’t mind telling them why.
If we just let the bump be free once it gets to a noticeable point, I don’t know how to address the “are you pregnant questions.”

I mean it’s really none of their business

I felt the exact same way. Eventually people will be able to tell if you don’t come out and say it anyway so you could wait for them to figure it out. It’s hard when you feel that way but maybe do it through text so there’s no face to face involvement and you can choose to read the replies (or not read them) at your leisure. Maybe take some time after announcing it before seeing people so you can figure out how to deal with comments. Hard to advise more without more context but when I told the people I dreaded most (ILs, parents) I still kept my distance. There will definitely be people commenting/trying to talk to you more but you just have to be firm and stand your ground
thank you for this. This makes me feel a whole lot better. Texting it sounds a lot better though.

I didn’t tell anyone I was pregnant until I was 20 weeks I’m still letting people I work with find out slowly lol. I say keep your peace and do what makes you happy!! It’s stressful enough as it is 🥰

I would tell the family. People feel hurt and they remember it forever. Your kid is going to play with them eventually and you want to create a happy and safe environment. May be you are overthinking it. You can just announce it and still not care about what they say.
This feels a little dramatic to me. Sorry not being critical but I like to involve people in my happy moments but I am sure you have your reasons to keep this to yourself. 🤷🏻♀️.

I waited a while to tell my family friends and coworkers, I liked having a little secret to myself lol I started telling people because I felt like I was close to showing (20-21 weeks)
