Is this normal?

Is this classed as sucking in at the ribs or is this normal? It's quite rapid as she's just spent 5 minutes crying

My baby breathes like this all do the time and I have had him at the doctors and even the hospital for it before as I have such bad health anxiety around him! The doctor told me it was fine and if unsure always look at the throat and see if they are sucking in there as that’s a good tell tale place. I find it always looks like my baby is sucking in at the ribs but it’s actually his belly is quite big compared to the rest of him 🙈 if your still unsure there’s no harm in getting checked Iv done it many times!🫶🏻

I agree with ebony my baby breathes like this too and it freaks me out sometimes but I think it’s normal. With my first baby I remember going to the doctors and worried they were wrong when they said it’s fine. But it was fine!

Thanks ladies, I'm dealing with health anxiety with LO. She's going through it at the moment and every new thing that crops up is sending my mind into overdrive 😫 xx

My little girl is exactly the same, breathes like this all the time. Ended up in hospital having tests when I first noticed but she is absolutely fine, I got a second opinion from the midwife and she said it’s normal,
Health anxiety is the worst 😞

That is dipping in quite a bit, I don’t want to scare you as it could be completely normal but it could be start of RSV. You could get her seen by a GP to be on the safe side xxx
