Induction - stay in or go home?

Does anyone know if you get to stay in when your induction is scheduled?

I’ve got one booked for 25th in case I don’t give birth before and I thought I’d be sent home, however I have GD and now came across a few mommas saying they stayed in hospital as it’s considered high risk 🤔

I've been told I have to stay in, not sure if it varies in different areas or the type of induction. I am considered "high risk" and consultant lead

I had to stay in and I wasn’t high risk

I think it depends which hospital you are at, I've had a few friends give birth at Barnet and they've had to stay in when being induced even if it's taken 3/4 days until baby comes xx

I was allowed to go home as I had an outpatient induction so had the balloon.

I had to stay in after induction and I was low risk

It usually depends what the hospitals policy is (each have different ones) and what time of induction - if it includes medication they usually like you to stay in 😊

You also have to stay in hospital as GD has massive complex issues for baby post birth x

My midwife has booked me for an outpatient induction for next week, so as long as nothing changes and I'm still low risk when I go in, I can then go home until labour starts

It depends on type of induction here.

yeah I’m giving birth at Barnet hospital as well and will definitely have to ask now 😅 don’t want to be surprised at how it’s going to go. Hopefully it doesn’t take that long for the baby to come out tho😭

yeah likelihood is you'll have to stay in them move to labour ward once you progress along

I hope it goes well!!
