He told me I was only entitled to £100 as he already pays 3 children on CMS. He sent me privately for 3 months then I went to CMS but I didn’t realise he would deny paternity. He then said serves me right for not putting him on the birth certificate and he asked for dna and told my mum he did this on purpose. My family told me close the case and let him go to court for access etc. since then he hasn’t sent a penny or even a Christmas present for his son. All he cares about his name on the certificate
I was torn on whether to actually open the case again or just leave him completely alone

Open it dont let him get away with it do you no his income as you can work it out on cms website the money is split but I bet it's more than a 100 a month

It depends on if you would rather have child support for 18 years no matter how little-- or if you would rather cut him out of your life. If it were me, I would ask him to sign over his parental rights and block him on everything. Having a toxic person in your life and your kids life isn't worth pennies you would have to go to court to squeeze out of him. He doesn't want to be involved in your kids life so obviously he would be a crappy dad. If his parents find out he has another kid he can't provide for or parent they might want to get involved and can you imagine the sort of people who raise a deadbeat dad? I wouldn't want to meet those people or have to share holidays with them
He told me serves me right as I didn’t put his name on the certificate. I had valid reasons not to put his name. He already pays for 3 children on CMS. I don’t want him in my life or my baby’s anymore. Past 6 months I’ve got nothing

I would say that’s a man who knows the cms system! He definitely knows that without a dna test once he’s denied it he doesn’t have to pay. I have seen on here that you can get a paternity test and the will proceed with the payments without him being on the birth certificate and he would have to go to court for them to aware that.
You can refuse access on the basis he isn’t contributing towards your son but that’s completely up to you!
If he’s leaving you alone for not going after the money and you can afford to not have the money (I bet it’s more than a £100 he’s just trying to put you off claiming) but might as well get the money your son is entitled to if he’s pushing for access in court
I haven’t received any letters. I’m on the fence on whether to leave it or do DNA? xx

As in you haven’t received any court letters?
no I haven’t to be honest

Ah well sounds like it was empty threats! I’m assuming he sadly hasn’t done anymore with your son-as I said before if you really need the money I would persue cms so your son can get what he needs
no message nothing. I don’t necessarily need the money to be honest that’s why I was wondering if it was even worth doing the dna
im not sure the stress that might come with it
if I don’t need it should I still do it ?
