Hello mama's!
My daughter is 4 & I am currently in the process of getting her tested for Autism!
Just wondering what I can do in the mean time to support her? Play groups? Community events? Parenting advice?
Anything is appreciated, thanks 🥰

What leads u to think she has autism?

what?

I got my son into occupational therapy and speech therapy (hes speech delayed as well as autistic) my son turns 5 at the end of the month. He was diagnosed officially last year. You can do play groups, if she likes that. Community events may help you more than they help her (it's still a good thing to try) and my parenting advice... teach her at her level. You know your daughter more than anyone. And dont let anyone treat you like your "stupid". (Doctors espicially)

I'm a mama with autistm with a 6 year old boy who also has autism. I've found having him around kids with similar things going on and talking with parents/guardians who know what it's like has kinda helped us.

We try to expose our 4 year old to activities that neurotypical children typically enjoy but with lower expectations that she may not participate the way that other kiddos would. We've been surprised by how much she really has enjoyed but in a different way. We go to the butterfly pavilion (like a butterfly garden) and she just stands and flaps her arms as they fly over head. And then runs in circles when she's excited that they come close to her.
She is currently enrolled in an ABA therapy center full time and it has been the best thing for her and for us as a family. Happy to answer any questions about ABA if you consider it down the road.

My son has autism and I’m pregnant now and I’m worried about my newborn having it just because I’m a single
Parent to my son and it’s a lot and having another child with autism may be a lot to handle but It’s a different father and I was young when I had my son I was 19 and my kids are 9 years apart so
Im hoping it was just a one time thing

I was in that same boat, my baby is now a year and a half, as far as I can see, he doesnt have autism. He also has a different father from my older son. It is still hard, but it was a fear I had.

autism can be a random thing but it can also be genetic a lot. I only have one kiddo so far but my siblings and I have different fathers and all but one of us have been diagnosed with it. It definitely can be a lot to handle though at times.

I read everything I could find on the subject. That helped me. I joined mom groups online big help. And I listened to whatever educators mentioned to try at home to help him. I also listened to him on what made him happy.
