My daughter is obsessed with Roblox

Okay so my daughter has been playing Roblox I really didn't understand what it was until she came home from school and said something about downloading Roblox. So I just thought it was just a simple game but then weeks pass by and she became obsessed with it and she would constantly cry and scream at the game so I became very curious until I found out that it was an online platform with people that would bully her. I told her that I'm going to delete the game for good because her behavior has became very aggressive. Has anybody that have older kids play Roblox? 🤔

My 7 year old plays all the time but I monitor her account and there are parental controls and I think you can disable the chat feature if I remember right

I play roblox my self lol, but yes it can become toxic at certain points, you have no idea how many children have tried bullying me online 😭 honestly its like any online game, there will always be people that talk trash just to talk, even if it’s not anything personal

Like Amber said, I monitor my son’s account and have the chats disabled. He’s also required to ask permission for which games he can independently play on there (some of them are super dark and violent). We have a deal if he really wants to play a game I think he shouldn’t, we have to play it together. This stops the tantrums, supports our bond, and helps me guide him through the not so good stuff.

Oh no!! Kids are so mean but again it has to do with their parents. My son plays and I tell him if he's going to be reacting that way he shouldn't play at all. I let him know these are games they don't define what you can do and neither do those kids that their parents probably don't care what they do. I let him decide because I know he has the capacity to do so. But he's never had any problems. He usually tells me when someone is out of line or he defends those online that are bullied. Just becareful with any games online. Just check them out yourself first.

Have you tried Minecraft instead? Or animal crossing

@Madison no but maybe consider alternative games

My daughter is obsessed she plays every day after school with her friends and I constantly read thru her chats but I haven’t found anything alarming. She is 9 and knows trolls are online. Bullies we ignore, report and block.
