Lemsip contains phenylephrine hydrochloride (a decongestant) which narrows blood vessels. There's a theoretical chance it could reduce placental blood flow or cause problems if you have high blood pressure. I used lemsip for a bad cold at a lower dose (twice a day) for only two days to limit risk and had no problems. But this is a risk only you can weigh up for yourself. There's limited evidence of it causing problems but still a theoretical chance, so the product leaflet will tell you to avoid to cover themselves: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK582906/#:~:text=Because%20phenylephrine%20can%20make%20blood,baby%20with%20food%20and%20oxygen).

Don’t use lemsip. Ginger lemon tea and steam bowls

I had one, but I have a low base line blood pressure and weighed up the pros and cons with my partner first. And it was only one. And it did eff all.
