Embryo transfer advice & tips ❤️❤️

Hey girls! I have my embryo transfer tomorrow I thought I’d share what I’ve been doing if it helps and would love anyone else’s input on what they did for success with their transfer?

-acupuncture before egg retrieval with giga laser from a fertility acupuncturist.
-beetroot juice (supposed to help with opening up blood vessels to aid more oxygen and nutrients)
-ginger for inflammation post egg retrieval
-relaxing a lot more to de stress
-booked a comedy show for post transfer 🤣 (I read a study that women who were made to laugh post transfer were more successful with implantation
-taking folic acid, NAC, cocq10, vitamin c, vitamin d, omegas, magnesium, vitamin b complex and iron

Anyone else have any suggestions & tips? We have 2 good quality embryos and tomorrow hopefully they will be blastocysts ready to transfer tomorrow 🤞🙏

Good luck!

I had a failed transfer in Jan and am hoping to go again in March.

- I’m adding acupuncture this time starting soon.
- I’ve downloaded the calm app to help with stress
- I take all the vitamins you mentioned with the addition of selenium, potassium, and bromelain
- there’s a thing about keeping your feet warm so I’m going to try wearing thick socks during and post transfer.
-I’m looking to try the comedy thing too!

Not got many other suggestions… A tip would be that it is so so tempting to test early but really try to wait until OTD! I tested so early last transfer and it broke my heart each morning.

Also looking for tips as have my embryo transfer next Thurs! Thanks for the ones you have both already listed.

I tested every morning too and it was so painful getting negatives every time. I'm waiting til my test date on this attempt.

I'm also focussed on gentle movement like walking or yoga and staying hydrated with 8 glasses of water a day.

And enjoying it! There was so much work involved getting up until this point. The actual transfer itself is so special

thank you I forgot to mention selenium I am taking that but not the others you mentioned so thanks for the tips 🥺❤️ & absolutely I need to be on a testing ban I’ll make sure my partner enforces that lol 😂

@thanks so much great advice! Good luck both of you ❤️🤞

You’re already doing plenty.
Other than the obviously medical stuff, I believe it’s purely down to chance.
Keep yourself busy and TRY and enjoy being pregnant until proven otherwise.
Best of luck

oh yes! Staying super hydrated is so important!

I also gave up all caffeine and alcohol before my last transfer and have just continued with that.

I saw something too that said if you’re keeping dairy in your diet it’s best to be full fat dairy and full fat has more female hormones in it.

Then just foods high it good stuff for fertility.. salmon and other fish high in omega 3, chia seeds, walnuts, Brazil nuts, raisins, plenty of protein.

Feel like there’s so much to think about!

Can I ask how long you’ll be taking those vitamins for and why your taking Nac and Coq10 for transfer? X

Avatar

hey! Of course, so I have Endo and have been taking NAC for my Endo for the past year and have noticed a massive difference in my inflammation and overall pain from that. It also gives your cells more energy (ATP). It’s been shown to increase mature eggs released and egg quality as well.

I’ve also read about it helping to prevent miscarriages in pregnant women so I’ll continue to take NAC through pregnancy if it’s successful.

COCQ10 (urbiniquol) is what your body produces naturally but as we age it declines and lower levels is linked to low ovarian reserve. I’ve been taking this for about 1 year to help egg quality. (Although they do say 2-3 cycles prior is enough). Hope that helps ❤️

thank you for sharing!
I have been taking both vitamins to help with egg quality but just wondered why you were taking for transfer!
What does coq10 do to help with transfer?
I’ve also read Nac helps reduce miscarriage too x

Avatar

Wow. I didn’t do any of that stuff. I just took my Pregnacare and hoped for the best. 😬

yeah, I did the meds my doc recommended including a prenatal vitamin but otherwise left things to fate. I feel like we can get really into trying to control what we can, which makes sense, but really at this point it is out of our control by the transfer. Some embryos, regardless of rating and uterine conditions, just aren't going to stick around. If there was scientific backing to the other things then our drs would be recommending them.

Avatar

Exactly. The truth is, so much of this process is actually out of our hands. Yet there’s a whole industry based around convincing us that if we take this supplement and do that acupuncture and put these crystals under the moonlight that we can somehow affect the outcome. Well, for the most part, we can’t. It mostly comes down to age, genetics, and sheer dumb luck.

My advice for preparing for your transfer is threefold: 1. Hydrate. 2. Meditate. 3. Go easy on yourself.

My best advice to anyone going though this is to not stress about improving the chances because you can't. Nothing is scientifically proven to help other than testing embryos and some very limited studies regarding acupuncture helping due to increasing bloodflow. Anecdotally I did acupuncture on my first transfer and had a miscarriage, did not do acupuncture with 2nd transfer which resulted in my son (my transfer was in 2020 and they were closed due to covid) and I did do it with my daughter in 2022 so I don't believe it played a role one way or another.

Absolutely acupuncture and beetroot juice. I did acupuncture before my transfer for a few weeks and the morning of the transfer. I had my transfer 21 days ago and am still doing 8 ounces of beetroot everyday along with a very Mediterranean diet, lots of leafy greens and healthy fats like salmon and avocado etc. and sweet potato. It gets a little boring but my transfer was successful with not a super high grade embryo and my hcg has been amazing in all my tests so far. Good luck!!!

Good luck 🤞🏼
At the start of our ivf I did everything I could……leading upto our last one (our lg) I did barely anything but after I did do the McDonald’s fries, eat some pineapple, wore warm socks & rested quite a bit but also kept moving inbetween. Honestly I felt less stress with the last one 🤷🏼‍♀️

Do everything you can to keep inflammation down, and you might not have any. But if you know you have triggers, avoid appropriately and drink lots of water.

Avatar

for the uterine lining. But I’ve stopped taking cocq10 now because had the transfer today ❤️

Avatar

that made me laugh out crystals under the moonlight 🤣🤣 I do acupuncture already for pain management for endometriosis so I just added extra in for the ivf as it helps me manage the Endo which could of course have adverse impact on the outcome or ivf if not managed how o usually manage it. But I get what you mean it’s all so consuming. There is definitely hope though for a lot of us by having this Information because whether people believe it or not nutrition and exercise do in fact play a massive role in fertility ❤️
