Newborn Visiting Rules
Hi everyone, I’m booked for my c section on Thursday and as you can imagine, we have lots of friends and family excited about seeing baby. Some of our close ones do sometimes like to show up unannounced so I’m thinking of sending a blanket message for some visiting requests upfront (drafted in the picture below).
I feel a bit guilty of sending this (it will be going to everyone close to us for fairness) but feel that if I don’t say something, I’ll get annoyed with unexpected visitors or people not being hygienic.
Any thoughts? Am I going nuts? 🙉

I think I’ll use some of your points as well!! The hospital advise section is so smart! Like I feel like they’d judge me if I said dont kiss my newborn or wash your hands. This was I can put it on the hospital 🙏 completely agree with your rules and dont think you’re going nuts

We told all our family that we wouldn't be taking visitors for the first week or two. And we loved this time as it made it so protected! And about us bonding with our newborn rather than watching others steal our cuddles or try to settle them when we know she wants us or the boobs! Only thing I recommend adding :)
The whole list looks fab! Such a good idea to set your boundaries in such an important and precious time!
I’m going to have immediate family only for the first two weeks I really want to be in my newborn bubble for as long as I can! 🥰
I think it’s weird that people automatically don’t think like this (especially when they have been through it themselves) but totally agree! I’ll be doing a blanket message too ! Enjoy time with your baby x
