Maternity allowance question

I have received my first maternity allowance payment this morning (418£) , without any letter stating how much I’ll get weekly. Has anyone else had a strange amount paid and know why? Thank you!

I got paid £640 for the first time and I found it strange too as it is less then a month payment so I gave them a call. I suggest you do the same. The lady I spoke to she was super nice and explained everything about my payment. She said I'll ne receiving a letter via post but still nothing after 2 weeks so I suggest you to call too. Hope this helps :)

I had a text message to say that my first payment was from 15th to 4th of the following month and it was around £400 and something! Guessing the first payment is to get to a new month?

I think maternity allowance is flat rate 172.8£ or thereabouts
