My partner does nothing. My son is 15 months tomorrow and my partner does nothing with him, has paid for nothing and bought nothing. He honestly is not interested but acts like he is in public. He expects me to do absolutely everything for our son and round the house while working fulltime. I have now been signed off with stress and I get counselling every 2 weeks. This man has 3 older kids but if I ask him to sterilise a bottle or to pack our sons nursery bag he says he has no clue what to do so leaves it for me. I’m so close to leaving, I can’t do this anymore it’s killing me. He is not fit to look after our son by himself, he has some health conditions and I filled in his ADP form with him where he even stated he cannot be left alone with the kids because he just falls asleep. He has fallen asleep while cooking and everything so not safe to be alone with the kids for long. Since we got together I did everything for his kids and looked after them, I babied him like he wanted and now I’m the primary carer for his kids when they are here. He also has a drinking problem and will go out drinking whenever he can, even though he has no money, he sometimes wakes up during the night for a cider!
Where can I go legally with this if I leave? My parents are more than happy to help with a lawyer since I’ve spent all 12,000 of my savings on him and his kids. Will I have to let him see our son by himself? Will he get him overnight? He gets the 4 yo overnight but I’m always there and before we got together he would stay at his mums with him.

Firstly, I'm so sorry for all you're going through. You must be so strong to have taken all this on. Would certainly approach a lawyer and consider how best to at least plan to leave. Would also keep file notes or a diary and note down dates and times that these sorts of incidents have occurred so you have a larger & clean record if it were to get nasty. All the best, good luck & take care of yourself the best you can x
