Aptimal formula lactose free
Does anyone have any experience with this formula and what’s it like? I am pretty sure lo has milk allergy but dr won’t prescribe milk until I have seen how he is in a couple of weeks. However he is so uncomfortable I want to try and buy some see how he gets on and if it helps. Does anyone have any experience with this formula if so are you happy with it?
I have been reading you have to consult a doctor before buying lactose free milk. Has anyone tried using it without speaking with doctor? The trouble I’m having is I have been doctors every week with him and they are not listening to me so I want to try him on lactose free as you can buy it in the shops but it suggests not to? So now I don’t know what to do 🤦🏼♀️

We tried this for my baby as they thought she could be lactose intolerant because she was being sick etc but I told them I thought it was reflux which appears it was so it didn’t actually make any difference to her she was a little less sick on some feeds. Found it very expensive for half the size of a normal tub! Be aware it does contain cows milk so if you suspect they have CMPA it won’t help and maybe a soya milk formula would be a better idea I know SMA do one
We also were desperate and tried the lactose free formula but it’s very rarely that in an infant. Keep on at the GP. If you suspect it to be a cows milk allergy then fight for a trial on the prescription formula, don’t let them palm you off with the “it can take their bodies a little while to adjust to formula”. I had the same issue with my oldest and I was right. After a 3 week trial she was completely symptom free and practically a different baby, we did a reintroduction to cows milk formula on week 4 and symptoms reappeared within the first day. She remained on the Allergy formula until her 1st birthday.
