Has anyone had the HBGT before and knows how long it takes? Do you have to fast for it? My appointment is at 3pm!
I’m high risk for GD as I had it last time but that was during lockdown so I only had fasting blood tests done, not the drink (to avoid overcrowding in the waiting rooms).

Do you mean glucose tolerance test (GTT) I'm not sure what HBGT means? X

just going by the letter I got but I think it means high blood glucose test, so assuming the same thing 🤷🏼♀️

oh I see! How did you get on? X

It’s actually next week but realised it might seemed like it was that same day

oh I see. 3pm is quite late if it's a fasting blood test. With the glucose tolerance test, you fast for 12 hours, they take your fasting blood sugar levels. You then drink the drink and then remain fasting for another 2 hours to see how your body reacts. They take your blood for the second time then you can eat.
So the earliest you can eat that day is at 5pm 🫣 I'd query this and ask for an earlier appointment
