Scar colour

I’m in a c section support group on Facebook and lots of people post pictures of their scar and asking questions. I’m seeing people only a few weeks pp who’s scars have really faded already and some are even white! I’m 4 months pp and mine is still a really dark purple colour. Do all scars eventually fade to white or do some stay purple/red?

Hey, scar therapist here. Everyone is so different! Try not to compare. Your scar isn't fully healed until 2 years post partum! Things that can help with redness is silicone sheets and scar massage 😊

is there a specific brand you’d recommend for silicon sheets? I’m going to try them this time around x

Scarban do a reusable silicone c section sheet that i highly reccomend! Any Scarban products are fabulous x

Thankyou very much! I do massage after the shower every day, but I’m not so good at remembering to use my silicone sheets 🙈

No worries! Silicone is best worn as much as possible! Also using scar oils and moisturisers like NAQI scar repair or scar optimising oil and Alhydran scar moisturiser can limit redness! May be easier to remember to put them on post shower! 😊
