Trapped wind in newborn

My LO is a week old and ever since my milk came in he’s been struggling with trapped wind. I believe it’s because I have a strong let down as he’s gulping so quickly at points (I’m going to check this with my HV this week). His latch is perfect (according to professionals) and he’s content when feeding it’s just after when he’s clearly uncomfortable. He’s also going to the toilet fine too.
I’ve tried various different techniques to help him with it from bicycle legs to over shoulder burping and tummy massages but I am yet to find one that really helps him.
He hates infacol although I think it does help slightly. Is there anything else I can try?
He gets so upset and I hate seeing him in pain from it so just want to try and help him.
Any advice or help is appreciated x

Did you have a pregnancy ball at all? My little one loves to be bounced on my knee on it and it brings up so much wind. He also finds comfort in it, must remember me bouncing on it when he was inside!
Also he burps more over my shoulder as apposed to sitting on my knee! X

My baby is 4 weeks and is a very gassy baby...my midwife said some babies are more gassy than others...she told me to burp him for longer...he burps once and then I hold him for a while longer and he usually burps another time and this seems to help ...we get 2 to 3 burps after breastfeeding ...apparently its just the case for some babies ...its hard as its so sad to see them so uncomfortable

Also I eliminated quite a few things from my diet as I noticed it was making his tummy upset ...had to completely give up dairy...not the case for all babies so hopefully you don't have to give up any food

I really struggled to burp my first but so far my my second is bringing it up much easier. I saw a video with baby sat on lap, hand under chin and positioning their bodies slightly to the left and using circle motions to the left rather than patting and they’re coming up as big whole burps within minutes. Hope that makes sense? xx

I had the exact same with my first baby and now my little boy has struggled. I took him to a lactation consultant who checked his tongue and he had tongue tie. He got it cut and it is definitely a lot better, also feed reclined back and they suggested use a Hakka one your breast before you feed to get the initial let down gush that has definitely helped xx and hold upright for 15mins after feed ❤️
