I had my amazing little one earlier this month. I used a fertility clinic in Ireland with a sperm donor clinic in. I was wondering if there is a register in the UK that holds the details of the sperm donor if my child would like to seek these details when they are an adult? The clinic told me to join the Irish register, but they will not add me as I gave birth in the UK. Appreciate any advice…

In the UK Your kid is able to seek for the sperm donor at 18 through the HFEA.
The problem is that you had your treatment in Ireland and I'm not sure how laws work there.
What I would suggest is to keep the order you made from the sperm Bank and really save the catalogue number and name of the bank in a safe place. You will need this data when your wants to ask to the HFEA. Hopefully that don't would have been used by anyone else so it's registered in the UK and they will be able to give the information.
Thanks - my clinic ordered the sperm so I don’t have many details. I’ve been informed that the Irish min of health keeps the records but I couldn’t even find an office contact details online. Will have to follow up with the IVF clinic again to get more clarity.

But technically you should have picked the sperm, right? Do you remember the name of the sperm Bank?
