Raspberry leaf tea

Just wondering, has anyone started drinking raspberry leaf tea? If so, when did you start and does it actually help?
I’ve read so many different things so unsure whether to try it out or not.
Thaaaaanks!

I drank it religiously for my first pregnancy and I was 9 days late 😂 I think it's a myth. Best advice would be to be as active as possible! Going on a really long walk put me into labour

I started drinking it at 27 weeks it’s not suppose to start labor it’s supposed to tone your uterus so your contractions are more effective. I think it helped as I only had a 7 hour labor (pushed for 14 minutes) and only felt the contractions the last 3 or 4 hours (but I was also induced due to preeclampsia.

I drank it both times from 36 weeks onwards, they were both 10 days early

@Stacey it isn't supposed to bring on labour, it's about strengthening the uterine muscles x

Advised to start from 32 weeks, starting with 1 Cup a day and gradually increasing to a maximum of 3 a day. Before taking, you need to check with your HCP as it isn't recommended with certain risk factors/complications x

No 😂 drank it with my first, I mean I progressed quickly but I was pushing for almost 4 hours….

32 weeks for me, will up to 2 cups around 34/35 weeks I think

I started drinking it from 32 weeks as indicated on the box I chose the hot tea mama brand which can be purchased from Holland and Barrett/Superdrug. I’ve just increased it to 3 cups a day I’m 35 weeks now it’s nice cold with pineapple juice and cranberry juice.

Like others say it’s not for starting Labour it’s for toning the uterus to shorten pushing as your uterus may contract harder due to it being more toned xx

Avatar

32 weeks one cup a day , after 2 weeks can do 2 cups a day then after 35 weeks there’s no limit to how much to drink it

It will not bring on labour, it will not make labour happen etc all it does is soften your cervix to help with an easier/ potentially faster delivery

Some people are over due and started necking cups of it , it’s too late then it literally will do nothing you have to build it up in your system

I did it from 32 weeks with my first baby and the midwife when I went in for my induction said how soft my cervix was and was from the tea x

Avatar

you can get it in capsules! I also add honey and lemon juice to the tea x

Avatar

ive ordered the capsules today i tried the lemonade and still couldnt stomach x

Avatar

bless you! The capsules do the same thing apparently so hopefully that will be better for you. Try honey and a bit of lemon juice in the tea tomorrow see what you think xx

I will give it a go! Thank you :)
