When should I expect scans?

After several losses, I'm 9w4d and this is the farthest I've gotten in any pregnancy. I had a complication at week 6 (subchorionic hematoma) that caused a LOT of bleeding.

My fertility clinic did scans week 6 and 7 and everything is measuring properly and heart rate looks good but because of the complication I have an elevated risk of miscarriage.

I've been discharged and am waiting for my first appointment at the midwife clinic. I was under the understanding that the next scan would happen at 12 weeks and I feel capable of waiting that long, but I just looked at the BC Health website and it says 18-24 weeks is the next scan 😭 is this right!? How can I be expected to wait this long without reassurance things are progressing?

I've seen some women post about getting "reassurance scans" but I wonder if that's an American thing?? Does anyone know?

Hi! Typically the first scan is around 11 weeks (the dating scan) and then they do another around 20 weeks (anatomy). But the clinics are BUSY and I booked my 11 week scan when I was around 6 weeks pregnant. You need a referral, maybe you can call the midwife clinic to get one? Unless they do one at the midwife clinic? (I went through my GP).
Goodluck and congrats!

From my experience with last few pregnancy, Generally you have dating scan which you had through your clinic typically between 6-12 weeks, and 20 week detail scan. You only have extra scans if you are deemed high risk for issues like growth restrictions, gestational diabetes or many other specific issues requiring extra visuals. But the schedule will depend on what it is and treated case by case If you are at risk for genetic issues they will ultrasound between 12-14 weeks along with blood tests. Other areas have different schedules or they pay private for scans. I am high risk for multiple reasons miscarriage being one of them and i never had additional ultrasounds prior to 20 week with either of my last pregnancy. All of mine have been later in pregnancy. You may have a scan due to the hematoma. Hopefully you will see you health provider soon for a plan, Good luck.

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

C section trauma ?

Is it a thing to be traumatised by a c section delivery? I’m 4 weeks pp after having an emergency c section. I won’t go into the ins and outs to what got me there 😂
Nothing went wrong in the surgery at all, it was just incredibly intense, overwhelming and scary, but luckily my baby was delivered safe!
However I’m finding my birth experience quite difficult to even think about and when I do, I feel a horrid gut wrenching feeling, my heart aches and I just uncontrollably cry! My body feels really alien to me, like it’s not my own and I just feel really let down.
