Salaam! I am a convert in the US and am due in June. I am wondering how I can keep modesty during my child birth. I plan to ask for only women allowed in the room but I know that stuff can be out of my control if things go south during birth. But usually you have to wear the gown the hospital provides. Any suggestions?

Salaam! I added the note into my birth plan that I would like only female nurses/staff for religious reasons and I was assured that the request will be respected as much as possible - sometimes it is out of their control unfortunately due to availability of staff (I.e. the person inserting the epidural could possibly be a male).
I’ve also purchased a modest labour and delivery gown off the Lila website to wear instead of the king sized pillowcase with strings of a gown they provide at the hospital. I’ve confirmed with my OB that it will be okay for me to wear but they also shared the risk of it possibly being cut incase of emergency situations - which I don’t mind at all. I’ve included the link for the one I bought below!
Best of luck and praying that the rest of your pregnancy goes smooth and easy 🤍🤲🏽

Medically if not available a male is allowed to deliver baby. Just make sure that that is your only option or try finding a doula to look for resources or other options for you as well. Like maybe home birth or a birthing room where you don’t need much attention but still have a medical staff if need be. My first was delivered by a male but I made sure he was gone when I was done especially being exposed from the top since I couldn’t avoid the genitals. He was the only dr available but Alhamdulilah we had an abundance of female nurses

I wore the hospital gown but took a big loose light cardi to wear over it when i got off the bed which was long as straight after birth i didnt have any leggings on
I also covered my legs whilst being wheeled to the ward and had a loose scarf for my head.
Also based in UK.
I just made sure to pack long tops & cardis along with 2 Scarfs ( 1 burki & 1 dupata style)
Duas all goes well for you hun.
Im about to pack my hospital bag soon too
