Runny nose for more than a week?
Hi everyone ❤️ Does anyone know if it’s normal for my 17 month old to have a runny nose for more than a week now? I got her checked out twice and first she said it was croup, then decided it wasent, but thank god her cough went away and just the runny nose, is it normal to have a runny nose for more than a week. I’m a ftm so appreciate any help/ advice what I should do. I am doing the suction but it dosent work well because my daughter barely lets me do it.

It could be teething (like basically every other symptom a LO gets). But also, toddlers are little humans so just remember times when you had a running nose for what felt like forever. It could be allergies, the weather resulting in a casual cold, etc. Kids get casually sick a lot because their immune systems are still learning about the world.
I've started using tissues with my 16 MO maybe a month ago and I found it works decently enough. Them fighting it usually results in them blowing into the tissue. Also, putting them in the shower is a great way to clear congestion (letting the water run over their head to warm up and loosen the yuck in the sinuses)

My daughter ended up needing antibiotics but we were also all sick. I guess it depends on if the snot is colored or clear. Clear is usually allergies or something but yellow/green means infection. We had a regular cold (virus) that turned into a bacterial infection
