So babygirl growing so fast and turning 1yrs old. Debating the whole party thing. Don't live around family and one 1 true friend since I had her. The rest moved outta town or state. So it's just my sister her daughter my mom and the baby's dad's family. Situation. Dad's family's holiday is on her birthday month so they can't eat or do anything til sundown. Her birthday is a week day, dad works weekends. Anyways she not going to really know if we went all out for her birthday bash for turning 1. I love parties and would if I had my own house. But we live in a 1bdrm and his family offered but we wouldn't get to cake presents or games until after their fast breaks at 741pm then tea and sweets then coffee. By time it's the baby's party part till be 9 or 10pm that's her bedtime. So I told them I wanted to do a separate one for my friends and during the day. Sorry but it's not my custom or religion. Why do I have to do what they want for the next years for the baby bc her birthday is on their holiday. Is it bad I'm trying to do my own thing? Bc I feel guilty I told his family of course their welcome to come. I understand if they don't eat and stuff but it's about the baby not them is how I see it. Even if it was just a small lunch with my mom and sister and daughter. Maybe a handle of others come with their kids maybe not. Idk but why should I not try? Or should I just throw in the towel screw it have just the 1 at 10pm for a 1yr old birthday and wake her. I'm sure she'll b bitchy but idk what to do or think and everyone keeps saying it's whatever you want but I'm trying to please everyone always I feel so lost for my own baby's birthday party

Can you do it the day after her birthday so that you don’t have to worry about waking her up and it won’t interfere with their fast? You could always do something just you, her, and dad the day of her birthday.
My baby girl’s birthday is on Easter. So, I’ve opted for skipping doing Easter (my other kids are preteens and teens and the only one that would hunt eggs or anything is my 10 year old that is special needs but I don’t want her to think that every year on her sister’s birthday she gets gifts).

@Zella their holiday is for 30 days so they don't eat til sundown from March 11 til like April 10. If I do that might as well combine mine and her party lol. So until their Ramadan moves outta March I'd have to work around their schedule til she's like 3. That don't seem fair to her. I mean rn Ms Rose (babygirl) don't have friends so she really ain't going to miss much for her 1st bday. Ima do my own pictures and smash cake for her 1yr old photos and the dinner I'll take pictures then at 741 and call it a day. I just feel guilty myself inside bc I love birthdays and love going all out. But I use to have a house and now in an apt and feel so limited I guess. It's just all personal feelings maybe. Maybe I'm overthrowing it? As longs as she is loved well and as healthy as I can keep her or her specialist can keep her then I'm happy. It'll just be another day to her rn I think. So I'm trying not to think how I normally do and feel guilty and then like well 2 parties isn't a bad thing, right?

Ah, gotcha. Didn’t realize it was that long. Don’t feel bad about it at all. I wanted to go all out and do my little’s birthday on her birthday and was going to book this place that does parties but they won’t book on Easter Sunday. So, I just said forget it. I’m going to do everything at my house. It’ll probably just be me and my kids anyways. My mom moved away after the baby was born, the baby’s dad is basically not in the picture just pops up every couple of months when he thinks I’ll help him with something, and my sister has to work. So, it’ll probably be super low key. I’m doing all her pictures and such myself too. Can’t really afford to do anything else. I decided I’m making the cake myself and maybe next year when it’ll be something she’ll actually be excited about, I can do something bigger then.

Right that's how I feel like hopefully next yr I have it under control. Maybe I'm over thinking and waiting for this job and all these test like I just wanna start work. Well if you're close wed come over for anything. Party or Easter lol I don't have family here and she don't have kids to be around. Yet til school so yeah yeah I do my own pic too lol her 10 and 11mo came out so cute but I'm bias it's my kid lol. I think we'll both be good. As long as their happy we are happy nothing else matters, right? We are just over thinking and excited and sad their growing

I would just plan whatever you want to do during the day. And invite whoever you want. If your family doesn’t want to eat then, that’s their choice and it’s totally fine. It’s your baby’s birthday not theirs. I’m all for family and supporting each other but your in laws are grown adults… I’m sure they’ve had to be around food during Ramadan before.. if they complain it’s on them. Celebrate your girl like she deserves!!!
Also there is fasting in my religion too. Not as long as Ramadan but consistently once a month. If I go somewhere while fasting I never tell other people they can’t eat either… I’m an adult and I make my own choices and let other people make theirs lol.

@Briana thank you that's how I feel and I feel rude. I needed to hear that
