Birth centre
So my midwife is very pro induction and epidural and meds etc. which I’m the opposite of. The doctor told me I’m completely fine to have my birth in the birthing suite as long as baby comes naturally and there’s no current reason for intervention. She told me my midwife needs to arrange it, but my midwife literally didn’t even make a birth plan with me as she thought it was pointless because I could “just get induced anyway”. Now she is ignoring me when I’m asking her about sorting out the birth centre. I’m worried because the doctor said it has to be done through her, but if she’s not replying and I can’t get hold of her what if this ruins the chance I have at the birth I want? Who do I go to instead? Just feel deflated as I feel like she really doesn’t want me to have any choice in my own birth which is so weird to me. Does anyone have any advice? Sorry it’s a long one x

Are you in the UK? It's not normal in my area for you to have to arrange this unless you mean the midwife centre isn't attached to a hospital. Even if that's the case, just call them directly?
In my area you can decide where to give birth when you are in labour. I would just be vocal about what you want, everything should be your decision
can you contact the doctor or birthing suite yourself?
Maybe you can self refer to the birth centre 🤔 but it should definitely be your choice where you go. Sorry she's putting you through this unnecessary stress!
yes I’m in Manchester! The midwife centre isn’t attached to the hospital, but yeah I think I’m gonna have to contact them directly
the doctor told me I had to arrange it with the midwife 😩 I’ll have to ring the birthing centre I think
You can put your preferences on badger notes if your midwife hasn't been through a birth plan with you. I did have to ask mine to go through it x
I would also add to consider changing your midwife you can and don't need to give any explanation to her. She is not the right person to follow in your birth path! Just a thought!

That's odd - I thought everyone in the UK used badger notes but maybe not. I think the place you want to give birth can change right upto when you give birth so just call them.
Hi haven't done this myself but at my gp i think there are 2 midwifes for examples, and i was assigned to one, so, should i wished to change that i could call the reception of the gp and ask for a different midwife as you would call and ask for a different gp. I hope this helps!
