Not measuring belly?;

I have a growth scan at 32 weeks too and I’m not being measured this time! She said there’s no point as it’s unreliable, and any problems the scan will pick up!

If your having scans that supercedes fundal height measurements as its only used for lower risk women. If your on a growth scan pathway they are already keeping a closer eye than what they can tell from fundal height.

I'm having growth scans due to low papp-a and my midwife confirmed I'll be having those scans instead of the tape measure x

it seems you're also 28 weeks, have you received a letter yet for the scan date? I've still not received mine and worried it'll be super short notice

I got all my scans (4x growth scans) through in bulk in November just after my 12 week scan x

I had this as I'm on the scan pathway due to medication. Had my 28 week then had a consultant appointment the same week and asked why. The consultant checked with the midwife and did the measurement just for my peace of mind however using that measurement baby was measuring off the bottom of the chart way below where he should be and I was in tears. They did a scan because obviously that was concerning and he was actually measuring right on 50th percentile.

Usually if you're having even one extra scan they won't measure you're belly. It's outdated and usually very inaccurate and results a lot of times in unnecessary panic of booking extra scans when they aren't needed
