UC question.. housing element..
So I’ve found a private flat to rent and I’d be getting help from the government with it…
Do I have to inform them on my UC account that I now need housing help after I’ve signed the tenancy agreement?
What then happens after? How long do they take to pay the first months rent?

you would need to inform UC so they can help with housing, i informed them after i signed the agreement, i had to pay a month upfront and then UC paid my rent from the month after i moved in, i hope this helps xx

You go to the report a change tab and it's under housing I believe x
Also they typically pay you the money and then you're responsible for paying your landlord
Don’t forget that there is a limit to the amount they will pay for private rent so you need to check what this is in your area. If you rent somewhere that is out of the threshold, they won’t cover it all. You should find out first before signing the tenancy agreement because then you’ll be stuck.
