I was told no hot tubs or saunas:( it’s not good to be that hot while pregnant

My friend sat on the edge and dangled her legs in when she was pregnant so she could balance out her temperature but still feel included. Some have options to alter the temp too as regular hot tub temp isn’t advised. Hope you have a lovely time 🥰 xx

Depends how hot the water is, what your blood pressire is like, how far along you are (1st tri is worst for this - 31w might be better), and how long you stay in.
It is generally not advised because the tolerance would vary from person to person and there is some risk. But if you are confident that you can monitor your own wellbeing and it isn't burning hot (and especially if you have a cool pool to dip into after) a few minutes might be fine. Certainly you could put your feet in.
If you really wanted to, maybe 5 minutes at a time, sitting up to your waist or lower chest is likely do-able. But yes, there is some risk so it might be best to avoid altogether.

The guidance is not to be in water that will raise your body temperature above 37 degrees for more than 10 minutes, as it can be harmful for you and baby. But also your body will know if it is too hot for you, I used to have HOT baths and now can only have a bath if it is below 37 degrees, so if you do want to use the hot tub just be sensible and make sure that you aren't feeling uncomfortable, light headed or getting very sweaty.

I’d just dip your feet in. There isn’t enough research to guarantee what time/temperature is safe for submerging the belly. Not worth the risk!

I was told by my doctor that I can put my feet/calves in but not to submerge in it. They said hot showers were ok as long as it doesn't raise body temp but hot tubs just legs. Hope that helps! I've missed hot tubs too!

I've been using the hot tub, just depends how anxious it's going to make you and if you can even enjoy it. Personally I don't worry too much! Obviously just don't overdo it!

I went in a few weeks ago and was absolutely fine. Just made sure the temp wasn’t higher than 37 and no bubbles. 🥰

I would not base this on personal experience. I would ask a doctor to be safe. It’s not worth the risk in my opinion. I believe any doctor would tell you that you can dip your calves/feet but if you’re going to I would not go past that.

I asked this exact question yesterday as he only relief I’m getting is in the hot tub. It seems like it’s not a huge deal in third trimester. Dr recommended turning it down to 37 but laughed when I said “I need it hot for my back” and didn’t really bat an eyelid.
