A woman poured water on a kid because he poured water on her cat? Do you think she was wrong?

Rlly depends on more details of the situation.
I rlly wanna say she is likely over reacting but there a many reasons that could make this justified 😅

Yes she’s wrong kids struggle with controlling their impulses and need to be taught how to. As an adult she should’ve set that example and explain why the child shouldn’t have done that instead she reacted ignorantly and taught the child it’s ok

How old was the kid?

Not wrong imo. But if that kid is really young, ie 2 or less, then they likely understood to some degree what they were doing. I remember being very in control of my own actions at around 3 years old and very in control of what I said.
6

Where is this kids parents? At 6 they should know better.

No 6 year old should be pouring water on a cat that action within itself is worrying for y they think mistreating an animal at that age is ok.
She also didn’t need to correct the behaviour in that manner she should have talked to the parents first
but if this kid specifically is harassing her cat repeatedly then this could just be her method of settling the situation.

I don't know... If the parent of the kid come to pour water over that woman, would that be OK or wrong?

Why did the child pour water over the cat? Did the cat scratch the boy or anything?
To he honest I'd be chucking water over the woman if she threw water over my children

A 6 year old is old enough to better. As long as it wasn't a ton of water (like a gallon or more) I think the kid kinda deserved it.

A 6 year old is old enough to know better. Unless it's a lot of water, it's not going to hurt the kid.

a 6 year old and the woman are both supposed to know better.

@Giselle Ultimately, we don't know all the details. Like Mimi said, if the kid is repeatedly harassing her cat despite efforts to stop it, maybe it is her way of settling the situation. It's possible the parents don't care to correct his behavior. If she were to pour a lot of water on him, sure that's not ok. But the OP didn't say how much water was used. If it was a glass of water, it's not going to hurt the kid.

A 6 year old needs to know their actions have consequences. Imagine if the cat latched onto that kid and scratched or bit him badly. Or if that was a dog and it mauled the kid. A little water is literally the least you could do in that case imo. I loathe when kids are disrespectful to animals.

for not knowing the details I see you assuming many possibilities to justify the behaviour of such woman.
The only adult here is her and she certainly should know better.

@Giselle Fine, The kid was totally innocent and deserved no consequences. Is that what you want to see? I'm not the only one saying the kid possibly deserved it so I don't know why you're singling me out.

If the child did it on purpose to torment the cat I'd do the same but otherwise if it was some other reason I'd sit down and talk to child

you tagged me.

@Giselle Fair enough, but my point remains. We don't know the details so we don't know if the action was justified or not.
