New born question! Breathing question!

So I asked the pediatrician and he said this is normal but still seeing if any other mommas have had this happen with their new born! My baby boy does this thing right before a cry or maybe a poop? Where he turns red and sounds like he’s holding his breath for a few seconds. Then the cry will either go away or sound will come out and it’ll be a normal sounding cry! Anyone else’s baby do this?? Scares the crap out of me!!! But doc said it’s normal for new borns! Looking for more reassurance lol

Not a personal experience, but I've witnessed an exes baby brother do this. It is perfectly normal especially with new borns x

Yes my baby girl does this! Shes 5 weeks

My 8 week does it. I believe it's him getting used to using the muscles in his bum as he's not sure what's going on so cries a bit. Not sure but it's I go with it. As long as he's not continuosly screaming I know he's fine and will settle
