Croup

It wasn’t my toddler but my youngest was eight months when she got admitted to the hospital and gave the same treatment and it took about a week for her to get fully better.

Take him outside! Even if you just sit with him. The cooler humidity is better than warm steam for croup

My daughter is 2 and has had it twice. At night when she couldn’t stop coughing I took her outside, the cool air helps! I also used a humidifier. Her pediatrician gave her cough medicine and steroids, she was able to go back to daycare in 3-4 days.

our doctor told us the cool air is the reason why, a lot of times, when babies/toddlers are brought to urgent care or the hospital, they suddenly seem better! Worked magic on my daughter

My 2 1/2 year old had croup like a month ago and it took him almost a week and half maybe to get fully well. He was still a little congested and coughing some for about two weeks maybe. Just keep doing the breathing treatments and keeping him hydrated. It’ll be a rough few weeks but since he got the steroid shot the worst is over. You got this ❤️

my husband said the same thing. We did the breathing treatments at home but he said once he took him to the emergency room and they did the treatment, he said that he was acting better 🤦🏼‍♀️

Did the steroid make any of them more aggressive or irritable? My son will randomly throw his toys and scream and he usually doesn’t do that when he’s sick so I’m thinking it’s from the steroid?

I think the most it does is wake them up and just make them hyper, but my youngest has always had a temper so i wouldn’t know lol
